The Aeon - Where will I go next?

“Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know before you learned it.”

― Maya Angelou

Friends -

The Aeon asks, “Where will I go next?“

With the previous card, The Sun, you reached a point where you could express every aspect of your soul. The next step is to go further and align with spirit consciousness.

We’re nearing the conclusion of the 22-card Major Arcana sequence. Let’s explore its meaning in this context: we, as The Fool, have traversed all the other Major cards and are approaching the end of this cycle.

The Aeon represents a sense of finality concerning the old way, as we leave behind our past selves and cycles and move forward into new ones.

This is a time to come to terms with the mistakes you made throughout your life and to forgive yourself to accept the lessons learned as a result. These experiences remain within you as memories, but they no longer need to hold any power over you as you enter this new era of your life.

When you draw this card at a crossroads in your life, it is time to ask the question: Where will I go next? See below for more about The Aeon.

I’ve worked with the Tarot and hundreds of clients over the years. Is it time to do yours?

The Aeon

The Aeon asks us to recognize that our actions create a chain of cause and effect for which we are entirely responsible. With this card, we move through the fire of purification, shedding dead and dying wood along the way. We assess ourselves frankly, forgive, and let go of the past.

In the Thoth Aeon card, the Sky Goddess Nuith is a Dark Goddess of Omega, signifying the End of the Aeon of Osiris (the past patriarchy controlled Aeon.) As we know, energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed, which tells us that ends mean new beginnings.

There is a dual God here, as we see two aspects of Horus: the extroverted leader Ra Hoor Khuit – Horus the Elder, clearly depicted in the background, and the more introverted form in the foreground, with his childlike innocence and silence, Hoor Pa Kraat – Horus the Child.

Psychologically, our inner child’s needs and understanding take precedence; we pay attention to our perceptions of the world, emotions, and joy. We utilize this information to inform our adult choices rather than allowing it to dictate our lives. We rely on adult wisdom to decide how or whether to act on the insights of the child within, who remains quietly present but still heard. We can now distinguish what is right from our unique perspectives, personal experiences, and learning

Our inner passions break through as we transform ourselves from the restrictive mentality of ‘doing as we are told'- whether by others or by rules- during childhood. We abandon the old worldview and begin to evaluate our authentic path through life as unique, empowered adults. This can occur at any age in adulthood and may happen multiple times as we increasingly individuate. We come to understand our true selves and embrace what resonates with us rather than accepting someone else’s truth uncritically.

This card symbolizes healing, particularly on an emotional level. It offers promises of hope and happiness, along with a renewed sense of safety, protection, and recovery. We find ourselves in a place where miracles truly happen.

When you draw this card at a crossroads in your life, it's time to ask yourself: Where will I go next?
